Welcome to Wolverton, Buckinghamshire

Location

Formally a village midway between London and Birmingham, Wolverton was really put on the map by the railway industry. In 1838 it was chosen as a ‘halfway point’ where trains from the London & Birmingham Railway Company could stop and allow passengers to alight for a short while, and a large carriage and locomotive works was constructed. The town quickly grew in size: at its height the Wolverton Railway Works employed 5,000 men from the surrounding area and it still survives to this day.

In the 1960s Wolverton was incorporated as part of Milton Keynes, which has since grown to become one of the most admired and talked-about urban areas in the country. The unique design of this 30-mile square region of north Buckinghamshire, which incorporated two other towns and 13 villages when it was planned, took a modern interpretation of the garden city philosophy and today sees a wealth of trees, green spaces and quiet parks wherever you go. The city’s location was specifically chosen to benefit from both the West Coast Mainline and M1 motorway, providing residents with the very best in transport links by train and road.

Today, as a resident of Stratford Park you’ll be able to benefit from a convenient and fun lifestyle which provides you with the opportunity to live life exactly how you wish to. The development is well served by the amenities of Wolverton, including schools and supermarkets, while the facilities available around Milton Keynes are almost endless. From family pubs to trendy bars, independent shops to national stores, cinemas to a ski slope and local theme parks to adventure sports, this vibrant city has it all. And while the current Milton Keynes may be less than half a century old, the area certainly has a wealth of history which is available for you to explore.
